The Spirit of Artisans Trunk is an architectural object dedicated to the rituals of travel, celebration and the cigar.

Developed over two years, Spirit of Artisans brings together trunk making, woodworking, leatherwork, marquetry, metalwork, crystal and cigar culture within a single composition.

Its exterior is constructed around a traditional trunk architecture, finished in French calf leather and punctuated by custom precious-metal hardware. Opening the trunk reveals an interior conceived as a sequence of discoveries, with each instrument and compartment occupying a deliberate place within the composition.

At its center sits an integrated humidor executed in bird’s-eye maple and lined in Spanish cedar. Precision joinery, hand-laid marquetry and highly finished surfaces transform the humidor from a storage compartment into an object within the object.

Its custom hygrometer adopts the vocabulary of fine horology. A black pearl dial sits beneath sapphire crystal, framed by a palladium case and bezel and detailed with 24-karat gold numerals. Engineered specifically for the preservation environment, it measures relative humidity with an accuracy of ±1% RH and a resolution of 0.1% RH.

The surrounding architecture accommodates the instruments of the cigar ritual, including crystal glasses, lighter, cutter, cigar pick and ashtray. Each component belongs to the composition rather than appearing as an addition to it.

At the heart of the project is the collaboration between Maison Shéron and Arturo Fuente. Each trunk accompanies fifty Special Edition Maison Shéron OpusX Churchill cigars, bringing together two houses united by an appreciation for time, patience and handcraft.

Limited to 50 individually numbered examples, Spirit of Artisans represents Maison Shéron at its most complete: architecture, symbolism, ritual and craft brought together as an heirloom.

Cultivation.

The story begins with the soil and the leaf. Cultivation depends on patient observation and knowledge carried through generations.

Aging.

Time is part of the material. Curing, selection and aging reveal the character of the leaf before it is shaped by hand.

Construction.

Wood, leather, marquetry and proprietary hardware come together in a trunk conceived around the cigar ritual.
